Iran’s 45th Nat’l Quran Contest Wraps Up in Prayer Recitation, Adhan Categories

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The competitions in prayer recitation and Adhan (call to prayer) categories of Iran’s 45th national Quran contest concluded on Tuesday.

Iran’s 45th Nat’l Quran Contest in Qazvin

 

The final round of the two categories, both in men and women sections, was held in the northern city of Qazvin.

The last day of the contest saw the performance of 19 contenders in the Adhan and 11 in the prayer recitation categories.

The competition in the category of choral recitation had ended a day earlier.

Winners will be announced and awarded in a ceremony at the Farhangiyan University of Qazvin on Wednesday.  

The final round in other categories of the competition, namely Quran recitation and memorization, is slated to be held in the southwestern province of Khuzestan in the month of Dey (December 2022-January 2023).

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.

It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
